"There are notes between notes, you know… ”- Sarah Vaughan
Lee Mo lives in those in-between spaces, where sweetness meets depth and tradition meets discovery. Her voice can feel as comforting as fresh corn prepared by a loving grandmother, then suddenly deepen into a dark, resonant brew that awakens the senses. A singer and songwriter who honors her musical lineage while leaping boldly into the future, Lee Mo reminds audiences where good music comes from while hinting at where it’s headed next.
Born and raised in Baltimore and artistically shaped in Philadelphia, Lee Mo graduated from Temple University with a degree in Vocal Jazz Performance. Her sound, rooted in gospel, soul, and jazz, was formed early. She began writing and composing songs as a youngster in Maryland, inspired by vocal giants like Yolanda Adams, Kim Burrell, Ella Fitzgerald, and Whitney Houston. In high school, she added trumpet to her musical arsenal, falling even deeper in love with jazz and sharpening her melodic instincts.
